A set of six animations displayed in
frames which point toward both the conventions of gallery painting/object
display as well as a contemporary techno-slickness. This work is created
entirely with digital 3D animation software and as such has no basis in
“reality” other than a deliberate attempt to emulate the visible world.
From a technical standpoint, these animations involve the creation of
systems of forces which are then set in motion and run indefinitely with
no further input, allowing a camera/observer to rove through a
site. The animations become focused on destabilization both as a
visceral reaction to odd motion and as a conceptual destabilization of
habitual and fixed approaches to reality and ideas. The excerpts here all
all part of hour-long continuous
loops. |
